Getting you from A to B
Transfer services
Kingfisher includes a supervised transfer service for both arrival and departures from/to the main London airports and London Eurostar train station, to ensure students’ safe transfer. If they prefer, parents can also bring their children to the camps. Our experienced staff are situated at both the London airports and the residences to ensure the transfer day runs smoothly.
Arrival
Our experienced drivers meet the student at the international exit in the Arrivals Hall. Parents, Agents and the student are provided with the drivers contact details and he/she will be waiting with a Kingfisher sign in the arrival’s hall. In the summer our experienced staff will also be present in the arrival’s hall at Heathrow and Gatwick welcoming students and groups.
Departure
We organise an accompanied airport transfer which arrives at the airport at least two hours before the flight or at least one hour for a train departure. Staff help students to check in and then accompany them to the security point at which point they cannot proceed any further. We have an airport manager who is located on site at Heathrow at weekends and a 24 hour emergency contact number parents are welcome to call for updates on flights and travel.
Transport
Our partner for our airport transfers has over 20 years of experience of managing international student transfers. Individual students will be driven privately to/from the airport to the schools in chauffeur driven vehicles. In some cases, if students arrive on the same flight Kingfisher reserves the right to place 2 students in the same vehicle.
Supervised Coach Travel
This is available on Sundays only from Heathrow airport and is principally for our young learners who feel comfortable navigating their own arrival/departure. Our experienced staff meet them on arrival and walk them to a private coach which runs several times a day to/from the airport to one of our schools. From the school the students will be taken by taxi to the accommodation by one of our staff to check in.
Waiting Times
Sometimes it may be necessary for students to wait at the airport for students arriving on another flight. In this case, Kingfisher Education makes every attempt to limit the waiting time to a maximum of 130 minutes. In this case, students are always accompanied by a staff member and if waiting for longer than expected, water and a snack will be offered. Airports are extremely busy during the summer which means there can sometimes be long delays for our transport to reach the pick-up zones at the terminals. Unfortunately, this is outside of our control, but students will be supervised at all times.
We include 1-hour 30mins waiting period from the scheduled arrival time. Additional waiting periods charged at £30 per hour. Assisted check-in can be provided at a rate of £50. Please check requirements with your airline prior to departure. If you book an airport transfer and your arrival is delayed, for whatever reason, you agree to pay compensation in accordance with these published surcharges.
